Iljimae!!! The Never Ending Story!

Iljimae, a drama I just finished watching, has made it onto my top five kdramas to watch list!!! Iljimae is finny, dramatic, heart-wrenching, tear-jerking, and suspenseful! A must watch!!!!! The Korean's have this thing for conspiracy. I don't normally watch period dramas, but this has changed my opinion entirely!

Iljimae has a hint of romance for you people like me who can't watch it if there isn't even a hint of romance. He meets his first love early in his life. He watches his father be murdered before his eyes, is cast out as a traitor's son and needs to learn to survive. He meets a brother and sister who take him in. The brother is killed and the sister's wherabouts are soon unknown. Iljimae's sister is also lost. His mother is caught and he is forced to throw a rock at her. He watched his father's corpse be torn apart. He then loses his memory and is taken in by a nice family whose child was sent to live as a minister's son. It skips forward and he begins to remember his past and vows to make his father's killer stand before him. He goes through many trials to become a thief and is named iljimae. He searches for his sister and mother. He finds his sister but she is hung before his eyes. He falss for the girl of his past (but he doesn't know it). He keeps trying and when he goes in to finally confirm his father's murderer he sees his mother. He succeeds in his mission but the murderer's servant slashes him! Is he alive or dead?! Watch to find out!!!!

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!
Even if you watch you won't know if he's alive or not! At the end one of his old friends is telling a story about the return of iljimae and only starts it before switching to a clip of him stealing and then
                                                                                     a close up on his face! and then . . . .
THE END!!!!! YES FOLKS, THAT'S IT!!!!! THAT'S THE END OF ILJIMAE!!!!!!

There is a series called "the Return of Iljimae" but it's a different time period and plot. I'm not sure I can handle it!

Star Profile! Kim Jae Wook edition!!

Kim Jae Wook!!
Age: 28
Birthday: April 2, 1983
Height: 6 feet (184cm)
Weight: 143 lbs (65kg)
Zodiac: Aries
Blood Type: B

Kim Jae Wook is a relatively new actor who is bast known for his roles in: Coffee Prince, Bad Guy, and Mary Stayed Out All Night and one movie: Antique Bakery. He still lacks the experience of his predecessors but that can be gained. He is very versatile in his roles but from what I've seen, plays a very devoted character. For example in Coffee Prince, he was in love with the same girl for three years; in MSOAN he pursues Mae Ri; in Antique Bakery he does not give up on his high school flame. I must say, that seriousness coupled with that body is a serious turn-on. He is more of a model than an actor and was part of an indie band for some time. In fact, one of his first roles ever was as a member of an indie band. He still is an active participant in the music world which gives a prime opportunity for all us fan girls to watch him in action!

KYAAAAAA! KIM JAE WOOK-SHI! SARANGEYO! nose bleed!!!!!

Kim Jae Wook likes to clean, play soccer and baseball. He has a personal rule to never wash his jeans. I wonder what would happen if he got mud on them? He has an easy style. A distinct contrast with his character in MSOAN.

And now, because I know you're wondering, how hot can he be? let me present you, the sexy looks-Japanese-but-he-really-is-Korean KIM JAE WOOK-SHI!!!!! and the crowd goes KYAAAAAAAA!

This was once my background . . .

. . . as was this one

and this pic and all the following will eventually become my backgrounds!

Nerdy style never looked so sexy!

This is my April background. (We share a birthday month and zodiac!!!!)

This one reminds me of Inetsu from Ayabie

Now that you've seen this god-like beauty, you can admire him too!!!

My Top K-picks with Reviews!

If you're a beginner in the world of k-dramas, here are some of my recomendations

1. Coffee Prince: This drama is just so amazing I can't even describe it. This is the first drama I ever watched and definitely my favorite. It got me completely addicted to this world! It made me go through all the human emotions and was really touching! Also has really good music (a sign of a good drama!). And woo baby! Kim Jae Wook you are looking fiiine!

2. Secret Garden: Just as good as Coffee Prince. Again this drama is highly addicting!! The whole body switching that's mentioned in the synopsis plays a HUGE role but isn't introduced until relatively late in the show. Again like Coffee Prince I cried, laughed, and got angry with the characters. By the way, even though I compare this drama to Coffee Prince, the plot lines are completely different so you won't be watching the same show twice. Great music.
 3. Shining Inheritance: Also known as Brilliant Legacy but I think Shining Inheritance fits more with the plot.A very close runner-up to the two before it on this list. Again, a completely different plot line but I sympathized with the heroine a lot. This is another very powerful drama that really riles a person up when looking at the heroines family and the family she moves in with. In this drama the audience is never sure how to perceive the heroines step-sister, is she nice or evil like her mother. And even though the stepmother seems to have a flat personality, she actually does care about her biological daughter, but I still hate her. I occasionally hummed along...
4. Mary Stayed Out All Night: I must admit that I was hesitant to watch this, but I felt the same about Coffee Prince too. It's a fun drama, definitely. The heroine's father pisses me off... a lot. The music in this drama is really good too, after all, the plot is heavily entangled with it. Kim Jae Wook and Jang Geun Suk are soooooo friggin fine!!!! (look for them on my blog!). Jang Geun Suk really has an awesome voice! I might be a little hard to get through because the dad can be sooooo annoying. Looking back, there was a pattern of events occasionally but nothing majorly repetitive. Definitely another must watch!

5. You're Beautiful: Yay! Jang Geun Suk is back!! Yet another music drama. At the beginning, depending on your tastes, the heroine might be a bit annoying if you dislike passive people. It was actually a bit of a turn-off for me but it was better by the second episode. That nun is not all what she seems to be! The plot is more in depth than it seems with bits of family trouble thrown in. There's even a classic 'are we related?!' bit which is very engaging. The characters are all interesting. Go for it! Lots of Eye candy!!! (Jeremy is sooooo cute!)
6. I Am Legend: Yep, another music drama, but definitely different. I'm almost tempted to put this one at fifth actually. think of this as 5.5. This drama does not revolve around teens but instead around the middle age women of society. There's a dash of law and the plot is as thick as gravy. Very very engaging. The ending was satisfying unless you really latch on to your ideal couple, then it might be slightly disappointing but not a total let down. Awesome music. When it gets into the legal sections, which is actually more of the mainstream plot although it seems not to be,it can get really irkful because there are some really unfair going ons! But you know what? To hell with that because this was an awesome drama!

7. What's Up Fox: Really good drama! This drama is really funny and makes the audience really want to root for the main couple. The way the heroes begin their interactions is shocking to say the least but provides the fodder for a very entertaining show. It definitely deserves its spot on this list!

8. Miss Kim's Million Dollar Quest: This drama might be a little harder to find but keep looking because it's worth it! A betrayed miser and a bankrupt young master meet in a quest to survive in a demanding world. They run into a lot of problems but always come out on top! It's an inspiring piece that makes a person want to work harder. It's really finny and I highly recommend it. Highly.
These are my absolute tops I hope you enjoy them!!!

Heaven's Postman

I just finished watching Heaven's Postman on Dramafever. It was so touching! Heaven's Postman Is a movie written by Kitagawa Eriko, a Japanese screenwriter and now one of my writing idols. She is a huge name in the asian screeplay world and has written many award winning screenplays a list of these can be found here: http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Kitagawa_Eriko ).

Han Hyo Joo (Shining Inheritance) and Hero Jaejoong of the Kpop super group TVXQ star in this melodrama about a promising CEO of an IT company who becomes a postman for the dead. After an accident, Shin Jae Joon (played by Hero Jaejoong) falls into a coma and is given the ability to travel between the real world and heaven. He delivers the mail from the bereaved to the dead in heaven. He meets Jo Ha Na (Han Hyo Joo) by chance and she becomes interested in his work, especially since she's the only one who can see him. (this summary is courtesy of Dramafever)

BEWARE! SPOILER ALERT!
Now for my opinion. This movie was at first a bit odd. It was different because of it's lack of music but the plot was interesting enough that I didn't want to stop watching it. The two main characters interact in a calm way and match each other well even though it seems they won't be a perfect fit at first. The scenery at the field with the red mailbox is simple but beautiful. I myself being a traveler at heart, wish I could go there. Nearing the end you can see what's coming and can't help but wish otherwise. Ha Na at one point turns and says her contact moved and everything was blurry. When that happened I couldn't help but think, "No!!! Not now! They're finally hitting it off!" In the coffee shop she loses sight of him completely which really freaks her out. When he disappeared completely, I didn't cry as I had expected I would, although I did come close. Luckily he was awarded a chance by God to live (for those who choose to watch, pay extra attention to the bus driver!!). I bawled like a baby when Ha Na and Jae Joon reunited though. And of all places to meet each other again, it's in the POST OFFICE!! It was so unbelievable touching and sweet, I loved it so much. And for those of you who don't watch the end credits, in this movie, if you don't you won't reach a definitive end.

This movie is a must watch for you K-fans out there! It seems like such a fantasy, and makes you wonder if this could really happen. Kudos to every participant in the making of this movie!!
